• The Company
The Bank of Lime is a Ltd Company, established in 2009, in Bologna (Italy). It's an idea of Andrea Rattazzi, chair of the Forum Italiano Calce.
Our mission is to keep quality building lime in the centre of New Construction and Heritage Conservation.
The aim is to affirm a 'culture of lime putty'. Culture that starts with the development of specific protocols for the production and transformation of lime, and later in his intelligently and appropriately use.
Team
Prof. Andrea Rattazzi
Andrea Rattazzi is founder and president of La Banca della Calce srl. He graduated in 1991 in Geology, University of Bologna and joined the Order of Geologists of Friuli Venezia Giulia. In September 2007 he founded the Italian Lime Forum and he is still the President of the Association . Since the academic year 2001 is adjunct professor at the University of Bologna and in the course of Architecture and, since 2008, professor at the School of Specialization in Architectural and Landscape goods, at Politecnico of Milano. As scientific expert, is part of institutional technique commissions, Normal / UNI Cultural Goods and works as a consultant in courts.
Dott. Costantino Polidoro
Constantino Polidoro is a founding member of La Banca della Calce srl. He is a chemist, graduated in 2002 at University "La Sapienza" of Rome. As a scientific expert of Conservation of Cultural Heritage, he provides consulting services for public and private projects in archaeological research and restoration. He holds the degree course in Chemistry of the Environment and Cultural Heritage at the University of Chieti. Since 2008 he is member of the Forum Italiano Calce Council.
Dott.ssa Ilaria Bassi
Ilaria Bassi graduated in 2010 in Social and Public Communication at the University of Bologna, discussing a thesis related to the Italian and French market of natural binders in building and restoration. She works in marketing and communication area, with particular interest in international markets. She speaks fluent English, French and German, Spanish and Arabic at elementary level.
